Merle, a bright, handsome young man of 27, scanned the car lot with a critical eye. He knew exactly what he was looking for in a vehicle, but wasn’t sure that he could find it here. He pursed his lips in concentration. He needed to find some way to get his dream car in spite of what he liked to call his “Auto Loan and Bad Credit“ dilemma.
“I can’t afford this car,” he overheard a soft woman’s voice disappointedly express from somewhere behind him.
Merle glanced in the reflection from the car windshield just ahead of him and saw an attractive young brunette with striking features.

“No one can afford cars these days,” he thought to himself, “especially when they’ve got bad credit like I do…” Merle sighed and his thoughts wandered off while his gaze held the reflection of her captivating gold and green eyes.
If only someone had taught him to spend wisely, work hard, and not get into credit card debt he wouldn’t have to worry about his unfortunate auto loan and bad credit dilemma. He hadn’t really worked in college so he could focus on his studies to become the kind of teacher he had admired as an impressionable youth. He had been working as a high school economics teacher for the past 4 years and definitely wasn’t making mountains of money, but who in this dreadful economy was.

Now, even if he wanted an auto loan, he was sure he couldn’t get it, but that wouldn’t stop him from looking…and besides, who knew, maybe he could find an auto loan in spite of his bad credit history.
Merle’s thoughts snapped back into the present as he heard a car door slam shut with the sound of having shut a few times too many . He watched an older green Toyota Camry pull away from the car lot. “There she goes!” he muttered wistfully. If he hadn’t gotten so caught up with thoughts of his auto loan and bad credit dilemma, he would have casually made his way to where she stood in such sweet perplection and struck up the most interesting of conversations…
Ah, well. Merle decided to give up his car hunt for the day to see if he could make some progress on finding someone who was willing to give him an Auto Loan in spite of his Bad Credit.
He walked over to his car, lowered himself into the comfortably worn driver ‘s seat and cranked the key…
